Problem
A leading producer of indoor and outdoor bleacher seating required a reliable screw to fasten the guard rail of the bleachers to the vertical support member. This fastener needed to work reliably, in the field under difficult circumstances, and the needed to meet safety standards against failure.
Solution
The manufacturer chose TAPTITE® screws due to their very low end load characteristic and high strip-to-drive torque ratio in the thin nut member.
Customer Benefit
The high prevailing off torque of the TAPTITE® screw eliminated the possibility of fasteners loosening. The stability of the TAPTITE®screw in the pilot hole also enhanced the assembly operation. The use of TAPTITE® screws instead of nuts and bolts also reduced the manufacturer's fastening costs while increasing product quality.
