Knowledge of our proprietary thread-forming technology is essential to the successful application engineering and marketing of our family of TAPTITE® and REMFORM® products. At REMINC/CONTI we subscribe to this premise, as it is the foundation of our licensing program. Our fastener licensees and end-user customers must be able to (1) identify potential applications for our fasteners, (2) specify the most appropriate product design for the application site, (3) develop convincing performance data through extensive testing that affirms the proposed application, (4) prove that the application will lower the cost of assembly, and finally (5) produce the fasteners to implement the solution. This detailed and deliberate procedure requires the input of educated individuals, those competent in thread-forming fastener technology, as well as an understanding of our complete product range and its capabilities.
As the developer and licensor of several proprietary fastener designs, REMINC/CONTI is continually striving to expand its application engineering activities and expose its training facility to as many licensees and fastener end-users as possible. From experience, we know that being pro-active with application engineering is critical to achieving success.
We assume the responsibility for educating our “army” of licensees by providing a no-charge comprehensive training program. This program is directed by our globally-positioned REMINC/CONTI professionals, including Don Fosmoen, John Reynolds, Ben Fosmoen, Dennis Boyer, Bob Budziszek, Matthias Jokisch, Sebastian Schlegel, Peter Egger, Leiji Su, Mat Hara, Ken Gomes and Bill St. Angelo. This experienced team of professionals is dedicated to education and training, whether it be conducted in REMINC’s laboratory-conference center, at CONTI’s facility or at individual licensee locations. We have numerous PowerPoint® and video presentations, which are supplemented by group and one-on-one discussions. All attendees learn about when and how to use TAPTITE® PRO™, POWERLOK® II™ and REMFORM® screws. The main objectives of our education seminars are (1) teaching attendees how to identify potential licensed-product applications and (2) developing the case of documented cost-savings. We know from our experience that our products are application specific and their use can only be justified by cost-savings, as assemblers have no interest in utilizing a new fastener design in an application unless cost-savings or quality improvements can be substantiated.
Our seminars typically take place over 2 – 3 days, but this timeframe and the presentation materials are always customized to meet an end-user’s or licensee’s expressed needs. Our staff can focus on the basic thread-forming technology, one or more specific product designs, application-engineering fundamentals, marketing techniques, manufacturing methods, tooling requirements or quality assurance. If training is conducted at your facility, staff members can provide hands-on training on your factory floor, whether perfecting heading and rolling techniques or just troubleshooting. We are flexible and can generally accommodate your schedule of availability and needs at your preferred location, but the best venue for product education is generally in the fully equipped REMINC training laboratory, located in Middletown, RI, USA, which is also free of distractions. To achieve success, education is paramount and REMINC/CONTI takes this challenge seriously.
